GAGE is a three piece rock outfit that was formed in 2007 comprising of Jason Horseman on lead vocals and drums; Llewellyn Burger on guitar and backing vocals and Johan Wooberg aka Johnny Woo on bass guitar and backing vocals.

To date GAGE has recorded three albums, the first released in 2010 titled “Empty Spaces” , the second in 2014 titled “Break the Silence” and the third in 2017 titled “For the Fans”.

Their debut album “Empty Spaces” was recorded at the M12 studio in JHB and produced by the legendary Peter Pearlson. Their second album “Break the Silence” was produced at The O Studio in JHB by uber talented Theo Janse van Rensburg and was released through Sting Music.

GAGE has just released their third album aptly named “For the Fans” as the band has received numerous sponsors towards the production of their third album from their most avid fans. The third album was recorded at B-Sharp Studios by renowned JP De Stefani and mastered by Chris Bethea in America.

The first two singles “Trigger” and “I Believe in You” of their third album “For the Fans” was released to every major music site worldwide during August 2016.

GAGE has made its way around in the press publications and has featured in the Fanbase Music Magazine, The Riff Music Magazine, The Rolling Stone Magazine and on News Channel 24.

GAGE has been gigging all over the country – from pubs and clubs to Currie Cup rugby matches. GAGE has played some of SA’s biggest music festivals such as SplashyFen, Oppikoppi and the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown and when they are not touring with rock legends like Wonderboom, they are opening for SA bands that have become a household name like Mean Mr Mustard, Crash Car Burn and Prime Circle to name a few. GAGE has also been the headlining band at the Beach Party for the STRAB Festival in Mozambique for the past two years and will be rocking the beach again in 2018.

GAGE released their first music video on YouTube titled “All that I am” taken from their second album “Break the Silence” and has been receiving daily airplay on SABC 3 since mid-2014. They finalized their second music video for the title track of their second album “Break the Silence” during 2015 and are currently in the process of planning a third music video.

GAGE has performed on ETV and Morning Live on SABC 2 during 2014 and they have enjoyed radio airplay in South Africa, USA and UK. These radio stations include RSG, Wild Coast FM, Kovsie FM, Zone Radio (S.A), Jaspa’s Heads-Up Rock Show Radio (UK), and The Daily Dose with Doug Barker and Home Grown Heroes on Rock Hard Radio (USA). “Break the Silence” was number one for five consecutive weeks on Wild Coast FM and number five on Kovsie FM. “All that I am” charted number five on Wild Coast FM. Their latest single “Satellite” charted at number one on an Australian based internet radio station.

GAGE embarked on their first international tour during August 2016 and gave the UK a taste of their home grown rock!

GAGE did over a dozen shows in two weeks at the likes of Rebellion in Manchester, The Jacaranda (the first venue The Beatles ever played) in Liverpool and the Dragonflli in Wales to name a few.

GAGE was invited by the O2 Academy in London to do a live recording on the same stage where some of the world’s biggest artists like Muse, The Cure, Eminem, Def Leppard and The Script has performed sell-out shows. Check out their latest music video titled “Trigger” on YouTube!

GAGE has just returned from their second international UK tour where they had awesome gigs – the highlight being their performance at the Drunken Monkey Rock Festival in Upton where they were invited by the main organizers to be the headlining band for their 2018 festival!
